JOB TITLE:  HONORS COORDINATOR                                                                       DEPARTMENT:  ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

SALARY RANGE:  $35,000 - $42,000                                                                      FLSA:  NON-EXEMPT 

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Director of Honors

SCHEDULE DETAILS:  Full-time/12 month position/PEERS

8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Occasional evening and weekend work also required. 

 

Position Summary

The Honors Coordinator is an integral part of OTC Honors and works to ensure student, program, and organization success.  OTC Honors encompasses the Honors Program and the Alpha Psi Tau chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.  The Honors Coordinator is a student-centered member of the Honors Office staff who assists in the management of day-to-day operations in the Honors Offices and Honors Student Lounge and facilitates the completion of Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa initiatives and events. The essential functions of this position require a physical presence onsite.  

Essential Job Duties

  • Supervise office operations and part-time staff in the Honors Office and student lounge.
  • Assist in advising of PTK and Honors Program students.
  • Train and supervise all part-time and work study office and student lounge assistants.
  • Support all Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa events and initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to all Honors Office and student lounge rules and college policies by all those entering, utilizing, or working in those spaces.
  • Assist in organization and facilitation of PTK and Honors Program events and initiatives.
  • Oversee the Honors Program and PTK Canvas sites and social media sites and all subsequent content, announcements, etc.
  • Manage all Honors Program and PTK related room requests, calendar events, and signups.
  • Oversee the Honors offices and student lounge operating hours and supply requisition.
  • Assist in Honors Program and PTK student recruitment, induction, commencement/graduation related tasks/initiatives.
  • Maintain Honors Program and PTK student progress reports/files related to program/membership continuation and ensure all PTK and Honors Program files are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist in the creation/maintenance of all PTK and Honors Program related reports. 
  • Communicate with Honors and PTK students, PTK Regional and International, the National Collegiate Honors Council, the Great Plains Honors Council, and other colleges.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with college policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to attending college functions, serving on committees and attending community events.

  • Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
