Job Title:  Part-time Fitness Center Attendant

Department:  Administrative Services

Salary Range:  $13.40 per hour

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

 

Immediate Supervisor:  Administrative Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services

Schedule Details:  Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week). Must be available to work between Noon and 7:00 pm.

 

Position Summary

The part-time Fitness Center Attendant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fitness center.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Monitor, maintain, and regularly inspect fitness equipment for functionality, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Maintain fitness center participant records to include emergency contact information and liability waivers.
  • Monitor, track, and evaluate usage patterns to assess the effectiveness of fitness center offerings and their alignment with the college's mission and vision.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the fitness center by regularly cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces.
  • Inspect locker rooms and shower facilities to ensure they are clean and well maintained.
  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment for fitness center users, offering assistance, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Serve as an advocate for health and wellness among the college staff, faculty, and students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED Certification (or able to be certified)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of health and wellness
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Ability to work well with others

Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of fitness equipment operation and basic maintenance
  • Practical experience in group exercise and/or personal training
  • Practical experience in fitness assessments and/or exercise prescription
  • Experience working within a collegiate setting.
